Community
Document Outsourcing believes and has it enshrined within our values the need to be socially and ethically responsible.
We view our customers, staff, suppliers and wider community as partners, working closely to assist through business as well as providing support.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility approach is one that many benefit from and one that we install throughout all our relationships.
Established in 2005, we provide critical solutions for the public sector, financial services industry and other leading commercial organisations across the UK.
We have equality clauses within all our contracts with suppliers. We source over 80% of the goods and services required from UK companies; of which 60% are SME’s.
Our tendering processes are carried out by our experienced Procurement staff who are either MCIPS qualified or in the process of obtaining MCIPS.
We pay all our suppliers to the agreed terms and we are passionate about supporting the business partners that support our operations.
Prior to using a supplier we conduct due diligence audits to ensure that their practices (whether it be Security to Health and Safety, Equality or CSR considerations), services and ethos matches our own.
Health and Safety re paramount to our procedures and the performance of our Health and Safety management system is monitored by our Health and Safety Committee which has representatives from each business areas; not managers but operational staff.
Our Employee forum looks at ways to improve working conditions and the physical space in which we reside.
These to us are just expected business practices of any competent organization, with a view to give back to the community and partners.
The Senior Management team of Document Outsourcing over 24 months ago embarked on an ambitious plan with three aims.
- Align with Social Enterprises to partner where ever possible
- Encourage staff at all levels to participate in the wider community
- Reflect the aims of the wider Scottish Government Objectives to help us more closely align with our large number of Public Sector clients.
In practice this means we have to operate a number of different work streams that’s aim is to provide a lasting legacy within Scotland and the UK.
So what are we doing?
- We partner with and employ staff from Flourish House is an independent Charity established in 1997 which aims to enable people with mental illness to regain purposeful lives in the community.
- We work with North Lanarkshire to recruit trainee production operators from the N.E.E.T category (Not in employment, education or training) for our apprenticeships.
- We are currently working with Talent Scotland as part of their graduate training programme.
- We support Young Enterprise Scotland by providing business advisors to encourage entrepreneurship in schools.
We acknowledge our role within the communities that our business operations service and take pride in the work we do that encourages and benefits everyone we have relations with as a company.
